Biography
Katherine Thompson's research interests center around how people perceive and react to threats posed by natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, floods, fires). Her current focus is on the effects that various levels of knowledge and experience have on the risk perceptions and coping strategies of people living in hazardous areas.

Katherine has also been working with fellow CRED doctoral student Dave Hardisty on a dynamic method for determining temporal indifference points for monetary and environmental outcomes over a variety of timescales.
