Biography
David Hardisty received his masters in social psychology in 2006 at Université René Descartes - Paris 5. His master's thesis examined the impact of computer mediated communication on group discussion, risk preference, and decision making.
David is currently working with Professor Elke Weber on a series of studies investigating temporal discounting of environmental outcomes. In other words, how do people future environmental outcomes differently from immediate outcomes? David is also working with Professor Weber and Postdoc Bernd Figner on a project comparing hot & cold cognition and risky decision making in adolescents and adults.
David is working with fellow doctoral students Poonam Arora and Kavita Reddy on a study of the effects of time and social identity on cooperation rates in social dilemmas.
David also has a strong interest in research dissemination and application. He is collaborating with Professor David Haaga at American University on a project investigating the effect of open access publishing on professional psychologists' reading and implementation rates of empirical research.
