Biography
Dr. Handgraaf is Assistant Professor at the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands and postdoctoral fellow at CRED. He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Leiden University. His main areas of research are bargaining, interdependence and the psychological aspects of (economic) decision-making. Recently, he has developed an interest in the lack of decision making: decision avoidance, procrastination, buck passing etc. At CRED he works with Prof. Weber and her students. The research focuses on environmental decision making by groups vs. individuals and the effects of preparation and framing on subsequent decision outcomes.
